I am so proud of the movement we are building and the work we are doing together. The enthusiasm and support for our campaign is growing by the day, thanks to our canvassers and supporters hosting meet and greets throughout the city.
We have many exciting updates to share, but for now I want to invite you to join us at a few upcoming events.
Join us for a Labor Day Picnic on September 2!
After weeks of on-the-ground, grassroots work throughout Vallejo, I’m excited to gather our team together, celebrate our movement, and mobilize for the final 2 months of the campaign.
And as the only union member running for office in Vallejo, I can think of no better time for us to gather than Labor Day. Please join us on Monday, September 2, from 12-3pm for a picnic at Somerset Highlands Park, off of Columbus Parkway and Regents Park Dr. We’ll honor Vallejo’s deep labor roots and thank our volunteers who have been out spreading our message of change.
If you have Facebook, please RSVP on our event page. All are welcome to join!
End-of-Summer Fundraiser on Saturday, September 7
You won’t want to miss our next fundraising event on Saturday, September 7 from 5-8pm! We’ll be gathering at the home of Mz. Askari Sowonde in Glen Cove (address provided upon RSVP) with food, drinks, exciting special guests, and some must-have auction items.
These events are particularly important in a grassroots campaign. I am proud that every dollar I have raised so far has come from individuals, and I intend to keep it that way! In order for us to continue to spread our message through fliers, yard signs, and mail to voters, I’ll need your help.
Save the Date: Community Town Hall
Finally, please save the date for Sunday, September 15, when we’ll be holding a town hall in the Joseph Room of the JFK library from 3-5pm.
You may have seen my interview on Ozcat Radio last week, where I spent an hour discussing issues facing Vallejo. Our town hall will be an even better opportunity for community conversation - I’ll take questions, and we’ll spend time discussing each of the critical issues facing our community.
Please join and bring your questions, and invite others who you think may be interested. These are the types of conversations that are going to bring our community together and generate meaningful progress.
We hope to see you at the events above. And if you are able, please join us as a volunteer or make a contribution. We are in the home stretch of the campaign, and the time to join is now!
